MY SUMMER SONGS
Hey girls,
Music is one of the great loves of my life. Fun fact about whoever's writing these blogs: I'm a multi-instrumentalist — guitar, piano, a few others.
Music is my safe place, basically. I don't think I could trust someone who doesn't listen to music, or doesn't care about it. I can't do anything without it.
So today I'm giving you my top 10 — the songs that'll make you feel like you're having the BEST SUMMER of your life.
(And yes, a couple of these come with a name attached.)
First place goes to a song that's been out for ages but somehow only just found me: "Picking It Up" by Gracie Abrams. When I hear it I see a field full of flowers, a good summer afternoon, laughing with someone. I'm currently looking for something that feels the way this song feels. But who am I if not a hopeless romantic?

Second: "You Can't Hurry Love" — but Olivia Dean's cover. Olivia is my artist of the moment; I'm obsessed with The Art of Loving.
Perfect for dancing around the kitchen with a glass of wine.
Then three I got hooked on through Off Campus:
Sue Me — Audrey Hobert
Bed on Fire — G Flip
Girls — The Kid LAROI
These are going on repeat while I sit on a beach with a tinto de verano. (Yes, I like wine.)
Another one that snuck in and calms me down every single time: "Good Life" by Sammy Rae & The Friends. I love everything that band does. Rich, danceable indie jazz — the trumpets do something to me.
Same territory, one more from my beloved Olivia Dean, this time with Ezra Collective. This one will absolutely get you moving: "No One's Watching Me."
Number eight, and we're near the end of this tour through my taste: sombr, with the incredible, extremely sexy "we never dated." Remember I said a couple of these come with a name attached?

Ninth: the forever iconic Olivia Rodrigo with "drop dead." What is there to say. A masterpiece.
And last, one of the groups of the moment: KATSEYE. With which song? Any guesses?

"Gameboy"!
Look at the range in this list — rhythms, moods, styles all over the place. Do we have any in common this summer? Did any of these make it onto your playlist?
Tell me. Let's be music friends.
